Wireless Camera

In video surveillance the word wireless can one of three specific sets of technologies.

An IP camera with wifi, long range wireless solutions, or radio frequency technology similar to a walkie-talkie. We don't recommend (or sell) the radio frequency technology because it doesn't actually work.

If you are a home user or corporate entity than a camera withWifi is probably the way to go. However be careful, as some cheaper manufacturers sell "wifi" IP cameras that lack an encoding language (they can't be recorded -- only watched).

If you are a government, military, or someone who is a situation where you are doing surveillance in a remote location(and especially if you are considering using solar panels to power the cameras), you should consider our long range wireless solutions.

What if I want to add wireless capabilities to a existing analog camera?
As a general rule, wireless surveillance cameras for analog cameras aren't the most reliable or professional security cameras. Cheaper models have a tenancy to overheat (we don't sell those), but even the better quality ones are often very limited in what they can do. We've got some decent products below, but wireless security cameras are still extremely limited and fill the need best for baby monitoring - not professional surveillance.

Generally, people who still need wireless video transmission, once they know all the details about wireless analog cameras, actually buy this product:

Other customers sometimes find that IP cameras with wifi can meet their needs, but again the price point is a good deal higher than the cameras on this page (and work with IP Camera Systems not analog systems). Some non-security themed tech companies have begun selling wifi "security cameras" for around $100, but all they are nothing more than glorified webcams.
